Erik learnt sailing on the chilly, bracken waters of the Baltic Sea, in the position of cook. Mostly along the coasts of Sweden and Finland, favoring navigating the rocky waters of the 24000 odd islands and islets of the Stockholm archipelago.
Standing a mast-like 6 foot 6, Erik later moved from the galley to sail most positions. His favorite is lying on the fore deck under the summer sun, chilled beverage in hand, listening to the waves splashing against the hull.
