20060730 - Shellshock was late in getting to the race course, but it did not matter as there was a postponement flag. So late that the crew had not the opportunity to put up her mainsail. This was a good thing as in the distance, a storm front started to roll in. Boats in the distance started to heel over with only the main and soon the rest of the fleet took down their sails. The front that capsized 10 boats around Belmont Harbor just minitues prior, was coming to our race course. Half of the fleet headed for home when winds got up to 37+ knots and we were able to get back to the harbor without getting too wet. As soon as the storm passed through, the afternoon opened up to be a nice day. After a one hour delay, six MORF boats raced and five completed. The crew of Shellshock stayed on the mooring can and opened up a couple of beers - too much motoring today.   > view results (pdf)
