The house (boat) beverage on Shellshock is the Pimm's Rangoon. This exotic summer beverage is perfect for sipping while sailing along the shores of Lake Michigan. Made Pimm's No. 1, ginger ale and squirts of lemon, then garnished with a cucumber slice over lots ice, this beverage is easy to go down and will keep you coming back for more.

Pimm's No. 1 Cup, a gin-based beverage, has a dark tea color with a reddish tint and tastes subtly of spice and citrus fruit. Named after an owner of an oyster bar in London, James Pimm, this beverage could only have been served at his restaurant. Later in the century he began to bottle and sell it commercially as Pimm's No. 1 Cup. It has been made in the UK since 1840. Although the recipe is a secret a close approximation to Pimm's No. 1 can be prepared by mixing one measure of gin with one measure of red vermouth and half a measure of triple sec.

After the Second World War, Pimm's extended their range, utilising a number of other spirits as bases for new "cups."

- Pimm's No. 1 Cup was based on Gin
- Pimm's No. 2 Cup was based on Scotch
- Pimm's No. 3 Cup was based on Brandy
- Pimm's No. 4 Cup was based on Rum
- Pimm's No. 5 Cup was based on Rye
- Pimm's No. 6 Cup was based on Vodka

There are many recipes for making a cocktail using one of the Pimm's Cup liquors, but Shellshock is fond of the Pimm's Rangoon (recipe is as follows).

3 parts Seagram's Ginger Ale
1 part Pimm's No. 1 Cup
1 lemon wedge, squeezed
1 cucumber, thinly sliced

Pour Seagram's Ginger Ale over ice in a tall glass. Fill with Pimm's No. 1 Cup and garnish with lemon and cucumber peel.

Next time you find yourself in the UK, pick up a bottle or five of the No. 3 and/or No. 6, and share it with the crew of Shellshock.
